About

The 43rd Kolloquium über Kombinatorik (KolKom) brings together researchers from across combinatorics and discrete mathematics. The two-day program features four plenary lectures and contributed talks in parallel sessions. Contributions from all areas are welcome, including extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, structural graph theory, algebraic combinatorics, and combinatorial optimization.

KolKom 2026 is organized by the Zuse Institute Berlin and hosted at TU Berlin's Interdisciplinary Center for Modeling and Simulation (IMoS).

Plenary Speakers

Registration

Registration is open until October 16, 2026. The conference fee is €100.

After registering, ZIB will send an invoice to the email address provided. The invoice will include the payment deadline. Please wait for the invoice before making a transfer. Registration is confirmed once ZIB has received the full fee.

Submissions

Contributed talks are 20 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions and are welcome from all areas of combinatorics and discrete mathematics. To propose one, submit a single PDF compiled from the LaTeX template: a one-paragraph short abstract followed by a roughly two-page extended abstract (references excluded). The deadline is end of day on September 30, 2026, with decisions by October 9.

Submitting requires an OpenReview account. Please create one early: profiles registered with an institutional email address are activated immediately, while others can take up to two weeks to be approved. Acceptance of a talk does not automatically register you for the conference.

KolKom 2026

Registration privacy notice

This notice supplements the general ZIB privacy notice.

Controller

The controller is Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB), Takustraße 7, 14195 Berlin. The ZIB Data Protection Officer can be contacted at dsb@zib.de.

Data and purposes

ZIB processes the contact, affiliation, attendance, program, catering, and billing information submitted through the registration form to process registrations, communicate with participants, issue invoices, administer payments, and organize KolKom 2026.

The required information is necessary to process the registration and participation agreement under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Invoice and payment data may additionally be retained to comply with ZIB's legal obligations under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. Without the required information, ZIB cannot process the registration.

If you choose to appear in the public participant list, ZIB publishes your name and affiliation and, if provided, a link to your personal or academic homepage on the KolKom 2026 website. This publication is optional and based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting spiegel@zib.de.

Providing career-stage and gender information is optional. ZIB processes this information under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR only to produce aggregate participation statistics for institutional and funder reporting. Individual demographic information is not published or disclosed to funders. You may withdraw this consent at any time; this does not affect statistics that have already been anonymized.

Providing dietary or accessibility information is optional. By entering such information in the registration form, you explicitly consent to ZIB processing it under Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a) GDPR solely to plan aggregate catering requirements or accommodate your request. Only aggregate catering requirements, not individual responses, are provided to the caterer. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting spiegel@zib.de. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal, but it may prevent ZIB from accommodating the request.

Google Forms and recipients

Google Forms is used only to collect the registration form. All subsequent registration administration, including invoicing, payment administration, communication, and conference organization, takes place in ZIB's internal systems. Google processes the form responses and technical connection data needed to provide the form. This may include processing outside the European Economic Area. Details and the applicable safeguards are described in Google's privacy policy and, for Google Workspace customer data, the Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum.

The registration data are accessible to the conference organizer and authorized ZIB administrative staff. Billing information is forwarded to ZIB Administration for invoicing and payment processing. With your consent, the participant-list information described above is publicly accessible on the conference website. Caterers and funders receive only the relevant aggregate information. ZIB does not otherwise share registration data unless required by law.

Retention

The Google Forms responses and the public participant list will be deleted after registration, payment reconciliation, and conference follow-up have been completed, no later than May 31, 2027. Invoice and payment records retained separately by ZIB remain subject to the applicable statutory retention requirements. Anonymous aggregate statistics may be retained because they no longer identify participants.

Your rights

Information about your rights and the competent supervisory authority is provided in the general ZIB privacy notice. Questions, corrections, and cancellation requests concerning registration can be sent to spiegel@zib.de.
